At the beginning of December, the Congress of Deputies validated Decree Law 15/2025 that enables the extension of the obligation to use an approved invoicing system (known as VERIFACTU) to January 1, 2027 for companies and to July 1, 2027 for professionals.
If you had already started using the system, you are not obliged to do so until the aforementioned dates, although, in many cases, if your software is already approved and you continue to use it in the updated version, you will be included in it.
It remains to be seen how the entry into force of VERIFACTU in 2027 is combined with the possible approval of the implementation of electronic invoicing.
With all this, the My recommendation is to take advantage of this extra time to ensure, in time, throughout 2026 that we have the billing system adapted for when it comes into force in 2027.
